Ytmp4 is a free online tool that saves YouTube videos as MP4 files and turns them into MP3 audio when you only need the sound. It runs in the browser you already use, on a phone, a tablet or a computer, so there is no app to install and no account to create.

Where is my file saved?

  • iPhone and iPad

    Safari saves the file to Downloads in the Files app. To put a video in Photos, open it in Files, tap Share and choose Save Video.

  • Computer

Which qualities can I download?

MP4 video comes in 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, 240p and 144p, depending on what the video offers. For audio you can choose MP3 at 320, 256, 192 or 128 kbps.

Is there a file size limit?

No. Long videos work too, in every quality the video offers up to 1080p. Ytmp4 shows the real size first, so you know how much space you need.

Does Ytmp4 work with YouTube Shorts?

Yes. Paste the Shorts link like any other link. The preview shows the vertical video, and you can save it as MP4 or MP3.

Can I download a whole playlist?

No. If your link comes from a playlist, Ytmp4 saves only the video in the link, not the rest of the list.

Do you keep my links or files?

No. Your link is used only to find the download options for that video, and we keep no download history. You can read the details in our Privacy Policy.

Why do I see an error?

The video may be private, removed, blocked in some places or limited by age. Check that you copied the full link from YouTube, or try another video.
